Merry Christmas (only 2 days late)

Ok, so I haven't posted in over 2 months. That's going to change, and this time I really do mean it. It's been one ca-ra-zy weekend, and I, your humble servant, am here to report on the goings-on of my Christmas this year. Let's start with Christmas Eve. I had to work til 4pm, which I could have done without, given that I would have to drive an hour to get to my parents', where my girlfriend and I would be spending the holiday, and I would have liked the opportunity to get an early start. We arrived as relatives were preparing to descend upon my grandmother's house in order to do the annual Christmas Eve gift exchange. Once everyone was settled, we all exchanged gifts, then I left to retrieve my final present: an engagement ring. I returned and politely asked a few stragglers to please return to the living room. Then I sat next to Donna, removed the ring from my pocket, and popped the question. Against all better judgment, some might say, she said yes. I'm ecstatic. First thing the next morning, I was awoken to find that sleet was falling outside. This in an area where it rarely gets below freezing. As if that weren't enough, the sleet soon turned to snow. It snowed all afternoon. I was right out there with the kids, playing in the snow. It was great. In my 24 years on this planet, it was my first white Christmas, and I spent it as a spoken-for man. Still working on a wedding date. I'll keep you posted.
