Another one bites the dust

Hopefully this will be the start of a trend. Two posts in as many days. I called this morning to cancel another credit card (2 down, 3 to go) and was pondering some creative ways to destroy the thing. I heard a guy on the radio this weekend cut one up with a jigsaw, but alas, I don't own any power tools. It was suggested that perhaps I could make it into an art piece, which I might do. Any suggestions?

Hi. How are you?

Today, I break my long silence. Yes, it's true - I yet live. And stuff. Well, I may not post regularly, but at least I'm consistent. I'm just sitting here waiting to go back to work, poking about in my site's layout (see the nav links up top are more prominent, so that... well, I don't know why. Because I like it. I've added a new section for my miscellaneus pointless yet potentially entertaining scripts, so that you can all see that I have been up to something.

More fun stuff to play with

Amazing what one can cook up as a result of boredom. I found a words database awhile back and installed it, figuring there was something clever I could use it for, and if I'd just wait long enough, it would come to me. Well, it did. Today I made a band name generator just because I could. So bon appetit. Except instead of appetit, I guess I should say something else, since you can't really eat words. So happy band naming, I suppose.

Whew. What a month.

So here I am, 3 days short of 1 month since my last post, I believe. And boy, what a month it has been. Lots of people have been asking if I was affected by Hurricane Katrina. I'm fine. Lafayette caught the very edge of the storm and was pretty much undamaged. However, most of the area immediately east of us was affected, and many people came here after their homes were damaged or destroyed. So folks, please remember those people in your thoughts and prayers, and hopefully things will be back to normal sooner than expected.

Remember me?

Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for I finally have a download. My first .NET program, a desktop version of the calendar display across the top of the page, is available in the Downloads section of the site. Hopefully more programs to follow. Enjoy!

Wow, I'm on a roll

Just wanted to announce another new feature: Registered users can now post comments to my sporadic posts here. Yay. In other news, I got my first web page job in many months the other day. Hopefully things will be picking up and I'll be able to supplement my meager earnings with some work I actually enjoy.

New feature

In the spirit of innovation, I've finally added a members-only feature: Now, on the rare occasion I get off my duff and make a post here, those who have signed up will get a brief email notifying them that there's new stuff to read here. That having been said, I suppose I should start filling your inboxes with notices, huh? I'll soon add an opt-out feature for those of you who can't be bothered with such foolishness.

Whoa, where am I?

I'm sure that's what both of you have been wondering. Well, I got married last month, and moved and whatnot, and just haven't gotten around to posting lately. Sorry 'bout that, folks. The wedding was great, as far as weddings go. I'll soon be posting pictures for all to see. I've been sorta looking for a new job, as my current one has me working like 20 hours a week. While optimally I'd find a programming/web development job, that hasn't happened yet, so I'm trying to get a job as a bank teller.

Hooray for stuff

I recently renewed my domain, so I'm in business for another year. Someone sent me a link to the Church Sign Generator, and I was inspired to do my own knockoff, Create Your Own McDonald's Sign, which admittedly has been done elsewhere but I have to say my take on it looks better. It's fun. As of today, it is a mere 2 weeks until the wedding. I'll keep you posted.

Still no cold feet.

So it's less than a month until the big day. No panic attacks yet, but there's still time. By now pretty much everything by way of preparations has been taken care of. One of the few things is music. I need a DJ. Unfortunately, I've been lax in my duties of finding one and so I have to really get on it. I secured an apartment the other day. Cheap, nice-looking, and did I mention cheap? So after the girl who lives there now moves out and they get it ready, I'm gonna start moving my stuff over, in order to actually move in around the middle of May. Woo hoo!
